Job Summary:
Drive Quality Management System compliance and improvement opportunities to ensure our products meet customer and engineering specifications. Interact with management and customers on high profile improvements and issues. Develop and monitor systems to report quality data from various sources. Proactively work with internal and external teams to promote and evolve the AAON quality culture. Position will supervise a team of direct reports.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:
- Develops quality control systems designed to ensure final products meet customer specifications and performance requirements.
- Works with Engineering, Sales, Warranty, and Field Service personnel to resolve customer complaints and address field service technical problems.
- Supervisory responsibilities include directing workflow, managing schedules, and providing coaching, feedback and disciplinary actions as required to assigned subordinates.
- Works with Quality Management to maintain the AAON Quality Manual and participates in annual review and updates of the Quality Manual.
- Utilizes statistical and root cause analysis to review current and past failures.
- Creates, implements, and oversees the development of quality standards/metrics.
- Ensures follow-up on improvements, corrective actions and activities related to customer complaints and reports to the customer the status of the actions.
- Participates in yearly department strategic planning sessions, monthly Quality reporting to Senior and Executive Leadership, and customer facing meetings.
- Works with other departments and outside manufacturers to ensure that purchased and manufactured parts meet engineering and customer specifications/standards.
- Plans, coordinates, analyzes, and reports quality issues, key performance indicators and continuous improvement activities.
- Provides suggestions for improvements and assists in implementing changes.
Educational Requirements:
Degree(s): An individual must have attained a minimum of BS in mechanical, electrical, computer, industrial or any other closely related engineering discipline.
License(s) and Certification(s): Experience in Quality (ASQ CQE Certification), ISO, Lean, Statistical Process Control, Auditing, HVAC, and Continuous Improvement methodologies are preferred. Certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred but not required.

Essential Physical Functions:
- Lift up to 50lbs.
- Periodic visits to the manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
- Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.
