The Quality Control Supervisor is a working supervisor who plans, directs and supervises quality control functions of hot mix asphalt, ready mix concrete, and aggregate product lines.

Responsibilities:

• Acts as liaison with owner regulatory agencies, subcontractors and/or internal departments on quality related matters as required
• Ensures that company quality control standards are effectively implemented
• Ensures adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of non-compliance
• Performs activities such as audits, preparation of company standards and notification to management of quality problems
• Provides administrative and technical direction to all quality control personnel including personnel administration, resolution of technical problems, development/approval of in-house training, etc.
• Performs testing on all material lines- Asphalt, Ready Mix, and Aggregates

Knowledge and Skills:

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills required
• Knowledge of hot mix asphalt quality control data
• Ability to work with large volumes of numerical data
• Thorough working knowledge of regulatory agency quality assurance/quality control activities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail

Experience and Education:

• Testing construction materials experience essential
• Asphalt and concrete testing certifications
• 4 years quality control/quality assurance experience or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Experience with various hot mix asphalt and aggregate lab equipment; such as gyratory, sieves, TMD apparatus, and ignition furnace

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional climbing of stairs/ladders
• Interaction with heating devices; such as hot plates, propane burners, and electric ovens
• Extensive standing and walking
• Lifting up to 80 pounds
• Working with and near moving mechanical parts
