Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources (DWR) is a publicly-owned utility committed to delivering superior services to a vibrantly connected community. The Department and its staff are widely recognized for superior service in the maintenance and operation of almost 9,000 miles of water, wastewater, and stormwater lines, as well as the operation of 2 water production facilities, 3 water reclamation facilities and over 200 pump stations. The Department of Water Resources takes pride in stewardship of the environmental resources entrusted to us and pledges to be responsible as we manage water as a limited, but renewable resource.
This position is a key member of the Water Production Team within the Facilities Operations Division. The position is responsible for providing engineering and technical support to the facility and coordinating On-Call and CIP projects (including project initiation and development) with Facility Operations, Maintenance and Technical Services staff. The position will coordinate and chair the regularly scheduled On-Call meetings, as well as attend all CIP update meetings. In addition, the position will work with the facility management team and On-Call contractors to prioritize short and long-term schedules and work to mitigate any project-related concerns.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Responsibilities may include:

  • Perform and coordinate design reviews – incorporate Operations/ Maintenance/OTS comments and edits
  • Coordinate planning process for new projects
  • Coordinate with plant staff and contractors on performance testing of new equipment and systems
  • Act as Engineering advisor to Facility Operations and maintenance staff
  • Coordinate with the Contract’s workgroup On-Call projects and review proposed labor and material estimates
Minimum Qualifications:
Engineer III
C45(1) - $74,192 - $122,417
  • Valid Driver’s License from state of residency
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or other similar Engineering field
  • Two years of progressively responsible engineering experience
Engineer IV
D61(1) - $80,685 - $133,129
  • Valid Driver’s License from state of residency
  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred
  • Four years of progressively responsible engineering experience
