Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and recommends methodologies that ensure that department operates within budget. Evaluates and justifies supply and labor usage as needed to meet budgetary metrics.
Provides completed reports as required to document operational performance.

Operational Excellence

Demonstrates quality leadership in meeting performance plans.
Pursues excellence in the arena of safety.
Acts as a positive role model; proactive in the achievement of the facility goals and objectives. Participate and add value to committees, meetings, activities.
Partner in leadership and oversight of production activities with chief engineer.
Maintains an environment that is safe through cleanliness and in an orderly condition.
Understands and develops total quality management process through rounding the facility. Demonstrates understanding and competency in interviewing candidates for openings.
Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy.
Demonstrates and promotes United Hospitality Services' culture, values and management philosophy.

People Management

Coaching management and hourly employees.
Encourages and nurtures associate creativity and innovation.
Develop and maintain performance appraisals for staff on a timely and accurate basis. Encourage staff to participate in additional training, education, and/or self-development.



Administration

Provides high level of communication, keeping all managers/directors informed of activities, needs or concerns. Maintains records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
Establishes and implements policies and procedures for departmental operations.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Other:

Due to the cyclical nature of the Laundry/hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of customers. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with United Hospitality rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the laundry's facilities. Employees who violate laundry rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written formal and oral presentations from hourly staff to VP level.
• Ability to maintain organization and control in an ever-changing environment.
• Must exhibit self-initiative, accountability, flexible and good leadership skills as well as interpersonal savvy.
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of laundry operations
• Above-average time management skills including ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
• Ability to study, analyze and interpret complex activities and/or information in order to improve new practices or develop new approaches.
• Ability to make decisions with only general policies and procedures available for guidance.
• Ability to apply supervisory/management soft skills.
