YOUR ROLE AS AN EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST


As an Employment Specialist, you get to find awesome career opportunities for program participants of Pathway Home 3 in our community! You make cold calls to employers, check out local postings and websites for job fairs, and even organize community events to help people find their dream careers. You're a creative thinker who's not afraid to design new strategies and try new things. Plus, you're all about helping people overcome any employment barriers they might be facing.


You keep track of all the great work you're doing by recording case notes and delivering reports. Oh, and did we mention that you do all this work for a nonprofit organization? Yep, your social services skills make a big difference in our community!


Requirements For This Employment Specialist Job


The knowledge and skills required for our Employment Specialist are:


  • 3+ years of experience in outside sales or job development with a proven track record
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, human relations, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of all key activities that customers must complete to successfully gain and retain employment
  • Ability to receive clearance to Rikers Island


Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Experience working with public assistance recipients, the homeless, the formerly incarcerated, or those affected by the challenges associated with poverty would be a plus.
