Job Description
Employee Owned Holdings, Inc. (EOHI) is a family of employee-owned companies that specialize in highly engineered solutions. EOHI provides corporate services – HR, Accounting, Marketing, Operations and IT support for the group of companies outlined below. We are looking to hire an accounting associate for AR/AP and other support functions to our central accounting team in Houston.


EOHI Companies:


Hydraquip, Inc. and Gulf Controls Company, Inc. provide technical expertise and value-added solutions through their offering of hydraulic, pneumatic and automation products. Supreme Integrated Technology, Inc. (SIT) focuses on hydraulic, mechanical and structural design to deliver custom, turn-key systems. The newest addition to the EOHI family, Hydraquip Electric Solutions, provides mechatronics and controls support.


Responsibilities:


The Staff Accountant is responsible for various accounting functions listed below and for providing general administrative support for the Accounting Department.


  • Sales tax compliance including timely preparation of sales tax reports and remittance of tax funds due.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assist in financial and government audits by providing requested information within company policy.
  • Assist with new vendor set-up, insurance certificates and vendor record maintenance
  • Assist various accounting functions as needed. This includes: issuing progress bills, posting progress bill receipts, following up with select customers on payment.
  • Assist with new customer set-up, credit checks and customer record maintenance


Requirements


Education/Experience:


  • At least Three years of Accounting Department experience
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite: MS Excel – spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc. MS PowerPoint – presentation creation/editing
  • Preferable experience with Epicor P21 ERP system, Quickbooks, and Moneysoft Fixed Asset Pro
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business


Desired Experience, Knowledge & Skills:


  • Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and share knowledge.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment-10 key calculator, copy machines, fax machines, etc.
  • General understanding of overall Accounting functions (G/L, A/R, A/P, Intercompany Transactions, Account Reconciliations, Journal Entries, Accruals, Month-End close) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and multitask efficiently
  • Ability to analyze and identify errors and solve problems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  • Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
