Job Description
Asklepios BioPharmaceutical, Inc. (AskBio) is a leading, clinical-stage gene therapy company founded in 2001 based on the work of adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy visionary and pioneer, Jude Samulski, PhD. Since that time, our commitment to developing life-saving medicines that can potentially cure genetic diseases has never wavered.
At AskBio, we’ve built a foundation of therapeutic programs, AAV manufacturing and a rich portfolio of patented technology. Our therapeutic focus includes neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases with clinical trials underway for Pompe disease, Parkinson’s disease, and congestive heart failure. Our gene therapy platform includes Pro10™, an industry-leading proprietary cell line manufacturing process, and an extensive AAV capsid and promoter library.
We became a wholly-owned, independently operated, subsidiary of Bayer AG in late 2020 as a cornerstone of its newly formed Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) platform. Our global headquarters is in Research Triangle Park, NC. Additionally, we have significant operations in Philadelphia, PA, Columbus, OH, Scotland, France, and Spain.
Our vision: Pioneering science to create transformative molecular medicines.
Our mission: Lead innovative science and drive clinical outcomes to transform people's lives.
Our principles:
  • Provide an environment for employees to reach their fullest potential.
  • Advance innovative science by pushing boundaries.
  • Bring transformative therapeutics to patients in need.
Our values:
  • Raise the Bar. Continuously drive improvements and efficiencies. Seek and provide constructive feedback. Have a bias for learning and action.
  • Cultivate Collaboration. Strive to be the best teammate, actively listen, openly communicate, and embrace diverse points of view.
  • Embrace Responsibility. We are humbled by the enormity of our mission. We hold a relentless commitment to advance science and clinical outcomes for our patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Be a Pioneer. We are not afraid of the impossible and to innovate to make gene therapies accessible to those in need.
  • Act with Uncompromising Integrity. Be honest, transparent, and committed to doing what’s right in every situation. Make clear commitments and follow through.
About the role:
The Employee Experience Specialist serves as the first line of employee support for HR-related inquiries. In this role, you will own the employee relationship as the primary contact for all employee/customer inquiries concerning HR-related processes and provide timely, consistent, and accurate resolution or escalation as necessary.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of clear and concise HR Knowledge Base articles (How-To guides) intended to provide self-service guidance for HR-related activities.
  • Assist with HR projects as needed.
  • Interact with employees via email, Teams chat, video calls, or in person to provide timely and accurate resolution for employee self-service (Tier 0) and Tier 1 inquiries submitted to the HR Help Center or HR inbox and track activity in the associated ticket. Escalate Tier 2 or 3 inquiries to appropriate specialist-level resources as needed.
  • Identify additional employee support needs or process improvements and work with other Human Resources team members to develop FAQs, create knowledge base articles, update intranet sites, and initiate projects for improvements as needed.
  • Support HR and business leaders’ reporting requests, generating one-time reports for delivery or working with HR Technology to schedule recurring reports as needed to satisfy request needs.
  • Review all incoming HR Help Center tickets and assign to the appropriate resource for resolution (including yourself) depending on the complexity of the request/inquiry. Create tickets for inquiries coming through the HR email inbox, Microsoft Teams, or other avenues as needed.
  • Perform routine audits of HR data to ensure accuracy. Work with appropriate specialists to resolve any inaccuracies identified.
About you:
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 1-3 years of HR generalist (or related) experience. Work experience, including applicable military service, may substitute for education requirement.
  • You have the ability to interpret and explain processes in a clear, respectful, and helpful manner.
  • You can communicate effectively and utilize interpersonal and organizational skills to build strong partnerships.
  • You have a growth mindset and a desire to develop new and improve existing systems and processes.
  • You have a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion.
  • You have intellectual inquisitiveness and a desire to learn.
  • You have a strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize effectively in order to meet deadlines.
  • You have proficiency with ticketing systems, HR Information systems, and Microsoft SharePoint.
