PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

The Emergency Medical Responder’s (EMR) primary responsibility is to answer emergency calls, provide efficient and immediate care to ill and injured residents. The EMR is also responsible for carrying out life safety, security, concierge responsibilities.

Essential Job Duties:

• Administering Oxygen
• Function within the scope of care as defined by state, regional and local regulatory agencies.
• Ventilating patients
• Determine when additional support is needed and act accordingly. This includes:
  • Identifying assessment findings that may require communicating with on-call provider for guidance.

  • Providing ongoing assessment of resident and administer additional care while awaiting additional EMS resources.

  • Verbally reporting observations and emergency medical care rendered to the responding EMS unit.

  • Assessing the extent of injury and renders care while awaiting EMS providers .

  • Contacting other EMR and or Security for additional help when necessary.

  • Performing basic triage when required.
• Administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Providing ongoing assessment of resident and administer additional care while awaiting additional EMS resources.
• Assessing the extent of injury and renders care while awaiting EMS providers .
• Manually stabilizing injured extremities
• Using a limited amount of equipment, the EMR will render emergency medical care based on assessment findings. Care may include:
  • Opening and maintaining an airway

  • Ventilating patients

  • Administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation

  • Administering Oxygen

  • Providing emergency medical care of simple and multiple system trauma such as:
    • Controlling hemorrhage
    • Bandaging wounds
    • Manually stabilizing injured extremities

  • Addressing general medical complaints, altered mental status, seizures, environmental emergencies, behavioral emergencies and psychological crises.
• Performing basic triage when required.
• Restock and replace used supplies.
• Clean and disinfect all equipment following appropriate disinfecting procedures.
• Prior to rendering patient care, identify the mechanism injury or nature of illness, the total number of patients and requests additional help, if necessary.
• Contacting other EMR and or Security for additional help when necessary.
• Conduct post-call activities including:
  • Complete an Event Report

  • Restock and replace used supplies.

  • Clean and disinfect all equipment following appropriate disinfecting procedures.

  • Carefully checks all equipment to ensure it is in working order the availability for the next response.
• Complete an Event Report
• Controlling hemorrhage
• Verbally reporting observations and emergency medical care rendered to the responding EMS unit.
• Carefully checks all equipment to ensure it is in working order the availability for the next response.
• Identifying assessment findings that may require communicating with on-call provider for guidance.
• Bandaging wounds
• Comply with regulations on the handling of the deceased, protection of property and evidence at the scene, while awaiting additional EMS resources.
• Opening and maintaining an airway
• Providing emergency medical care of simple and multiple system trauma such as:
  • Controlling hemorrhage
  • Bandaging wounds
  • Manually stabilizing injured extremities
• Addressing general medical complaints, altered mental status, seizures, environmental emergencies, behavioral emergencies and psychological crises.

2. Other Responsibilities

• Answer Concierge desk phones in a courteous and professional manner.
• Perform security sweeps to ensure secure access points remain locked.
• Assist with emergency evacuation drills and training.
• Perform Fire Life Safety Rounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS :

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and squatting; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, squat, and stand.
