Montessori School of Peoria is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as an Elementary Assistant. As an Elementary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational journey of our students and helping them thrive in our Montessori environment. Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom organization, including maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the learning environment.
• Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes independence, self-discipline, and a sense of community among students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events to contribute to the overall growth and success of the school community.
• Supervise students during classroom time, outdoor play, and field trips, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Support students' individualized learning by providing guidance, encouragement, and assistance as needed.
• Assist the lead Elementary teacher in creating and maintaining a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with the lead teacher in developing and implementing lesson plans and Montessori materials to enhance students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students, reinforcing concepts and helping them overcome challenges.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check
• Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably in a Montessori environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
