Aircraft Electronics Technician (Deployable)
Lancaster, CA
Want to travel the world working on state-of-the-art aircraft, and get paid a premium rate to do it? A world leader in aircraft technology are hiring for skilled Avionics & Aircraft Electronics Technicians at all levels (2 years experience up to senior, principal and lead technician level) to join our Operations based in the Lancaster area in California. You will also be deployed regularly to other states and countries around the globe (whilst being paid a premium rate of pay whilst deployed). As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on the development and test of some of the most advanced avionics systems and aircraft technology being produced in the USA, and in the world today! What will I do?
- Sound judgment and reasoning abilities –This job requires you to diagnose technical issues on complex systems and correct malfunctions returning equipment to flightworthy condition. You will utilize your vast experience, knowledge and troubleshooting skills to determine solutions to routine and complex problems. You will assess equipment condition to meet mission requirements and contribute to a safe operating environment.
- Understand electronics technology and computer systems – In this job, you will perform troubleshooting and repairs of ground and airborne electronic equipment. You will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, installation, configuration, operation, test and repair of various technical systems in accordance with established operating procedures to ensure safety of flight.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good integrity – You will interface with internal and external customers and provide technical guidance and training on remotely piloted aircraft systems and maintenance practices. This job requires strict adherence to the use of technical documents, policies, procedures and sound maintenance principles.
- When deployed you tend to work 8 to 12 hour shifts for 3/4 months approx. at a time, then have 3 to 4 months back at base location. Sometimes you’ll live offsite sometimes it will be onsite at the base. Could be ME, Africa, Europe, etc. They do get some say in when they go away internationally (e.g. if they were getting married etc) but they need to be flexible.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential, as is the ability to work any shift and additional hours as required.
- Good analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately troubleshoot components, document, report, and assess situations and make judgments and suggest solutions to problems.
- Full knowledge and use of electronic test equipment, hand and soldering tools, voltage or amperage measuring and recording devices.
- Willingness and ability to travel globally for work for 3 or 4 months at a time abroad (before returning then to work a similar amount of time at home base location)
- Two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency in aviation or electronics, with two or more years of experience.
- Active DoD Security Clearance highly desired, or otherwise you must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical orders.
