Job Description

Position Title: Electro Mechanical Assembler

Reports To: Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Version Date: July 2022 Position Information

Assignment Category: Regular, Full Time

Location Boxborough, MA


Summary


Responsible for assembling, testing and repairing electronic equipment, including inverters, charge controllers and electronic distribution panels.


Key Functions and Requirements


The major tasks and duties of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Inspect parts for flaws and imperfections and repair whenever possible
  • Assemble, wire and test assemblies according to best practices
  • Pull material from inventory needed to assemble various type assemblies according to parts lists
  • Ensure proper documentation and labeling is in place prior to shipment
  • Test finished assemblies for electronic and mechanical reliability
  • Willing to perform other duties and tasks as required.
  • Package finished products to ensure safe transportation

Qualifications and Experience Profile

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Desired Skills

  • Able to use and interpret electronic test equipment such as volt and amp meters
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Basic understanding of best wiring and assembly practices
  • Work with basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, sockets, terminal crimping tools, etc.
  • Ability to stand sit or bend for extended periods of time
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Read and interpret schematics and drawings
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Work closely with others while ensuring a positive work environment, team player

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, '''climbing,''' moving or carrying objects that may weigh up to 70 pounds or more. (e.g. boxes, pallets etc.)
  • Moderate dexterity to include use of keyboard, phone, hand/eye coordination.
  • May occasionally be required to work extra hours when it is necessary to complete work assignments.
  • Typical warehouse environment with adequate lighting and ventilation. Subject to a variety of noise and temperature levels.
  • Physical requirements include sitting or standing in one position for a long period of time, up to 8 hours.
