Electrician Jobs

This role will support the Installation Support Services (ISS2) contract on Eareckson Air Station (EAS).
This position will require that the employee work on site at EAS. Transportation from Anchorage to EAS will be furnished by government sponsored aircraft. Meals and housing will be provided by the program while working on the island. Employees will live in a dormitory housing environment and meals will be furnished daily through the cafeteria commissary. This role is perfect for someone who is able to remain away for long periods of time while working on island with occasional scheduled trips back to Anchorage.
Provide installation, alteration, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industries. Will be working with power generation and large area power distribution.
Essential Duties & Job Functions

• Responsible for installation and construction with some maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment
• Read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
• Knowledge of the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.
• Ammeter
• Knockout punch sets,
• Cable puller, meggers,
• Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction, including but not limited to:
• Hydraulic/electric benders,
• Able to set and coordinate over-current protective devices, size feeder circuits and basic understanding to work on systems across the island.
• Volt meters,
• Hi-pot equipment,
• Multi-testers

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to perform associated mathematical calculations
• Strong MS Office and other computer skills
• Knowledge of pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules
• Must have state drives licenses and acceptable record
• Valid Journeyman Electrician's License
• Ability to speak, write and read English.
• Candidates must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• Knowledge of principles and practices of safety management
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
• High school diploma or GED
