Home Power Systems is a Generac, Kohler, and Cummins generator dealer with locations in Buffalo, Farmington and Syracuse, NY. HPS is the leading installer of automatic home standby generators in Western and Central New York having installed over 5,000 home standby generators and has over 10,000 current service and preventive maintenance customers.

Home Power systems is looking to expand our generator installation team and are currently seeking Electricians in our Buffalo and Syracuse locations to install and replace residential automatic standby power generator systems.

Salary Range: $28-$35 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Installation of new or replacing generator according to specifications
• Complete required documentation of installations as per company policy and directive
• Use hand and power tools
• Inspect electrical components including wiring, panels, voltage, etc.
• Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
• Light electrical/ generator service calls
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
• Inspect, test, and start up systems to ensure proper functioning
• Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
• Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes and standards
• Loading and transport of equipment
• Provide excellent customer service to residential and commercial customers
• Install, enhance electrical portions of home power systems
• Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
• Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of residential Electric or Generator installation experience; NCEER Certification a plus
• Previous Generac factory training is a plus; will provide training for qualified candidates
• Familiarity with tools and equipment
• Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel & lift 70 + lbs
• Understand and follow written and oral instruction
• Must have knowledge of Electrical Codes
• Experience working on gas engines or electrical wiring a plus
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• Have great time-management capabilities and detail oriented
• Problem-solving and Critical thinking abilities
• Must be able to multi-task and work independently as well as contribute to the overall success of the team
• Must be professional, reliable, and hard-working
• Basic mechanical and pipe fitting experience is beneficial
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must have a valid driver’s license, possess, and maintain a satisfactory driving record
