Electrical/Instrumentation Technician - Senior Electrical/Instrumentation

The Santa Margarita Water District’s Operations Department is seeking to fill a vacancy within our Electrical/Instrumentation division. Our Electrical/Instrumentation team performs a wide variety of skilled journey-level duties in maintenance, construction, installation, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems, machinery, motors, motor control, solar inverters, microturbines, equipment, devices, plant control systems, and related facilities of District domestic and reclaimed water distribution systems, sewage collection systems, and water treatment systems. The District is ever expanding and with growth comes opportunity to increase knowledge and develop new skills. The ideal candidate would have a strong background in the industrial electrical field. Motor control experience would be a plus. Most importantly, this candidate would be a team player, display a strong sense of integrity, and have the desire to work on projects that make a real difference.

The District provides a 4/10 schedule and a generous benefits package, including pay for certifications. Additionally, the pay range shown above for this position increases by 3.00% effective July 1, 2023.

*The second step of the interview process for those who apply before end of day on Thursday March 23, 2023 will be a one-hour written exam at the District Offices on Wednesday March 29, 2023 between 9:30AM - 10:30AM or Thursday March 30, 2023 between 3:00PM - 4:00PM.
*The third step of the interview process, if warranted, will be an oral interview at the District Offices on Thursday April 6, 2023.
