Electrical Helper Jobs

Assist electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. This is an opportunity to learn electrical on the job.

Essential duties and Responsibilities

• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings
• Work at heights without fear
• Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects
• Make decisions based on measurable criteria
• Apply mathematics to solve problems
• Plan basic work and select proper tools

Core Competencies- the Electricians Helper must be able to proficiently perform the following tasks:

• Willingness to learn and professionally develop within our organization
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Install conduit (bend and install)
• Operate boom and scissor lift
• Assis with pulling cable
• Install cable tray (cut in offsets and install)

Position Requirements:

• Must be open to overtime, and weekends
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
• Work under immediate supervision
• Able to operate scissor lift
• High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements: The Electrical Journeyman 1 must be able to physically perform the below tasks at a minimum:

• Pulling: 70 ft-lbs
• Crawling: Occasionally
• Stooping: Frequently
• Reaching: Constantly
• Pushing: 70 ft-lbs
• Crouching: Frequently
• Strength: 60% Standing; 30% Walking; 10% Sitting
• Balancing: Frequently
• Lifting: 50 lbs.
• Climbing: Frequently
• Carrying: 50 lbs.
