Position Overview

The Maintenance Engineer will focus on optimization of processes across the plant and be expected to spend approximately 85% of his / her time on the production floor. He / She will be a part of the maintenance department reporting directly to the Plant Engineer.

Principal Duties & Responsibilites

  • Lead planning and design of all packaging automation initiatives on plant site.
  • Review current packaging capabilities of F & I and Glyphosate plants and select next generation equipment to optimize performance to meet present and anticipated packaging demands.
  • Assist in conducting research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support to PSM compliance team. Support plant efforts for Safety improvement and environmental compliance.
  • Work closely with maintenance personnel to trouble-shoot process problems and de-bottle-neck process issues.
  • Write standard operating procedures and train employees on most efficient operation of plant processes / equipment.
  • Drives plantwide efforts to collect and analyze production data through the plant OEE system to improve packaging performance. Trains operations personnel on the use of data acquisition and analysis to monitor processes in their respective areas.
  • Provide Project Engineering support and coordinate engineering activities during plant expansions and various capital projects on site.
  • Assists in troubleshooting the operation of centrifugal, vane, peristaltic, AOD, and gear pump/piping systems.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

  • Ability to flourish in a truly fast-paced environment, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • B.S.M.E. 2-4 years’ experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated; able to work independently or in teams with little supervision.
  • Strong follow up skills, detail oriented.
  • Effectively communicate and engage with the hourly workforce
  • Hands on experience with robotics
  • Strong computer skills; AutoCAD, Excel, Outlook
  • Expertise in pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Creativity and strong analytical thinking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
