Position Introduction/Key Duties

Watring Technologies, Inc. (WTI) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support space hardware assembly, integration, and testing activities in Huntsville, AL. This position is supporting work at the WTI headquarters location for the assembly and acceptance testing of commercial space propulsion modules including hardware sub-systems and components. Founded in 1997, Watring Technologies’ primary support is in Aerospace and Defense. Their capabilities include hardware integration, testing, and product development. With this acquisition, Cimarron gains substantial capability in both expanded service and product offerings.

This is an onsite position.

Key Duties

• Design and fabricate specialized test apparatuses utilizing control and data acquisition systems for exercising sub-systems and components.
• Develop and execute acceptance test procedures for functional verification of high/low-pressure distribution panels, sub-systems, and components.
• Review, interpret, and apply standards and customer design requirements for applicability to electrical design documents, specifications, material requisitions, and system descriptions.
• Support assembly, integration, and testing activities for specialized space hardware.

Required/Desired Skills, Experience, And Education

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Ability to be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using customer and industry-proven concepts and procedures.
• Experience developing documentation for Conceptual, Preliminary, and Final Design as an Electrical Engineer.
• Experience developing and executing LabVIEW scripts on National Instruments chassis and modules for commanding and collecting test metrics.
• Must be able to work well with other disciplines and functions.
• Working knowledge of electrical equipment specification and material requisition process.
• Understanding of all engineering discipline drawings and electrical discipline wiring diagrams, system descriptions, system calculations, schematics, and electrical equipment layout.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• 7 or more years of Electrical Engineering experience.
• Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
• Watring employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
• Ability to effectively communicate and work well with others and within a team.
• Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IPC-J-STD-001H, IPC/WHMA-A-620E, etc.).
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited course of study.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and electrical equipment layouts.

Desired Skills, Experience, And Education

• Experience working within ISO 7 or better clean room environment.
• Experience with space rated component testing.
• Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
