The eLearning Design Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise to assist professional work groups in the area of developing and revising e-learning courses. This role supports projects internally and is responsible for tasks and assignments associated with the development of learning solutions.

Primary & Essential Responsibilities
  • Develops instructional programs that leverage new technologies and multimedia
  • Applies creative design to the discipline of instructional design with an emphasis on multimedia
  • Applies interactive learning principles to instructional solutions for adult learners
  • E-learning Design
  • Creates images and animations that identify a concept or convey a message utilizing Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe InDesign
  • Selects colors, images, text styles, and layouts that are professional and convey a specific message
  • Multimedia Development
  • Selects, modifies, and integrates existing instructional materials that employ multimedia and emerging technologies
  • Uploads and configures e-learning content into learning management system
  • Develops instructor guides, student guides, and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations.
  • Maintains e-learning content using Adobe Captivate software
  • Produces training programs for virtual-live training utilizing Adobe Connect
  • Reviews designs for errors before printing or publishing
  • Develops graphics for classroom-based training, online training, and websites
  • Creates/Revises e-learning using Adobe Captivate software
  • Develops storyboards and scripts for e-learning and virtual live training
  • Training Program Production
  • Integrates emerging instructional methods and technologies into e-learning
  • Delivers products on-time with minimal defects
  • Creates multimedia products using a variety of software programs, primarily in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Adobe Captivate
  • Develops graphics for course catalogs and course information sheets

  • Manipulates and edits sound using appropriate software applications
  • Manipulates and edits digital imagery, video and incorporate graphics, and effects
  • Works with project team to design and develop SCORM compliant e-learning
  • Incorporates changes recommended by stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent follow-up, time management and organization skills
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe InDesign and PowerPoint
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams, external teams, and management to ensure requirements are being met and projects are kept on schedule
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience using Articulate Storyline and Rise to create self-paced and blended learning experiences
  • Proactive technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • 3 – 5 years demonstrated experience as an e-learning developer
  • Bachelor’s degree in multimedia design, graphic design, instructional design, or a related field in learning development is required, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience and proficiency with LMS Systems and other software.
  • Strong editing, written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven ability to create practical visual designs and layouts for digital learning resources and materials.
  • ATD Certification preferred
  • Proven ability to create/author learning content from sourced materials or subject matter experts.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing or delivering leadership and managerial training.
  • Proven ability to create video presentations using Camtasia, or similar application.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience creating visuals for learning using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, or similar applications.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing multi-media content, especially video for use in training.
  • Proven ability to plan, design, and develop learning solutions for a variety of needs and modalities using adult learning principles and instructional design methodology.
