Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to supervise the day-to-day operation of the Carrollton Nursing Lab and Simulation suite which includes physical space, equipment, hardware, software, and the human element. This individual is a professional RN with responsibility for skills and simulation, lab planning and instruction.
Responsibilities
Supervises day-to-day operations and maintenance of the skills and simulation suites, conducts skills and/or simulation activities, maintains and troubleshoots all types of patient simulators/task trainers, and associated audiovisual recording equipment, electronic health record documentation computers, and all other equipment used in ELC activities. Collaborates with course faculty in planning, designing, organizing, and delivering skill and/or simulation lab activities based on INACSL standards to meet course outcomes. Advocates for instructional methods that promote the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, clinical reasoning, and clinical competency for real life application.
Develops, prepares and programs professional nursing scenarios in simulation software, electronic health record documentation software and programming software. Develops, maintains, troubleshoots, and evaluates the technology and the environment for simulated clinical learning to enhance skill development and mastery and adopts emerging technologies to meet instructional goals and outcomes.
Coordinates and collaborates with course faculty in developing evidence-based peer-reviewed rubrics and other appropriate competency measurements and participates in assessing student performance in skills and/or simulation and providing remediation if needed. Develops and maintains a database to track skills and/or simulation scenarios including usage, set up requirements, costs, script, props, objectives and other items as assigned.
Assists in developing, writing and implementing, and updating policies and procedures related to skills and/or simulation based on the most recent evidence-based practice. Assist with setup, preparation, and clean-up for skills and/or simulation teaching/learning experiences. Assists with supervision of lab student assistants.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
Required Experience
Two years clinical experience required. Active RN licensure in Georgia.
Preferred Qualifications

Masters Degree in Nursing
Preferred Experience
Three years clinical experience. Experience with low to high fidelity patient simulators and task trainers. Able to maintain and troubleshoot software and audiovisual equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Collaborate on decisions inside the institution including assisting with the purchase and maintenance of expensive lab equipment including high-fidelity patient simulators.
