The Starbucks experience starts in our Roasting Plants & Distribution Centers where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering and logistics.


As An Environmental, Health And Safety Coordinator, You Will


  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Support site Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives that establish a positive safety culture.
  • Maintain site’s EHS inspection and auditing processes.
  • Support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with corporate safety program expectations and applicable federal and state laws. Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits.
  • Demonstrate and understand safety as a core value and follow the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforce and coach others to do the same.
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.
  • Support food safety, legality and quality programs.
  • Assist in facilitating the incident investigation process.
  • Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitor and document quality measures using analytical tools.
  • Proofread, format and edit functionally specific materials according to company standards.
  • Understand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently comply with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Prepare, communicate and educate client groups and teams on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
  • Actively support critical aspects of EHS management system that elevates partners and encourages engagement.
  • Ensure partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Assist the EHS manager in analyzing data and trends to proactively predict and prevent injuries.
  • Schedule, track, and maintain EHS training programs.
  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly metrics reporting to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems.
  • Be viewed by peers as a safety champion.

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse team environment

  • Ability to work in accordance with safety, quality and sanitation standards, policies and procedures
  • College or technical education preferred
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with the GFSI certification schemes (i.e. BRC and/or or SQF)
  • Experience with OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910 (1 year)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Manufacturing or distribution environment (2-3 years)
  • Must have effective facilitation/presentation skills
  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities
  • Ability to work variable shifts to support business needs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Knowledge of World Class Performance principles and methodologies
  • Strong computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365 etc)
  • High school diploma/GED, US military service or equivalent
