Efficiency Engineer Full-Time Jobs

Richelieu Foods, Inc., a renowned supplier of premium private brand food products, is in search of a seasoned Continuous Improvement (CI) Technical Leader to be stationed at our Wheeling facility. The CI Technical Leader, accountable to the Director of Continuous Improvement, will oversee the execution of cost reduction opportunities across all plants, including tasks such as waste reduction and elimination, setup enhancement, material optimization, development of standard operating procedures, machine training documentation, Zero Loss deployment, and project management.
Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver relevant coaching and training to ensure all employees are sufficiently trained regarding waste reduction, process improvement, and overall cost.
• Conduct Kaizen events to drive plant performance improvements. Foster cross-functional and intra-departmental problem-solving.
• Use current KPIs to track progress. Modify plans as necessary to meet improvement targets.
• Support the development of a comprehensive continuous improvement culture throughout the plant.
• Integrate Richelieu Integrated Manufacturing (RIMS) by infusing daily management systems into the plant culture to boost performance and support Zero Loss/Zero Defect initiatives.
• Provide expertise in waste reduction, process optimization, Lean principles, and Six Sigma problem-solving techniques. Empower current plant staff in DMAIC and Lean tools.
• Analyze existing processes throughout the plant to identify potential waste reduction opportunities and improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Drive Operational Excellence through various tools, best practices, and continuous improvement.
• Develop and maintain customized training materials for our skilled machine operator roles that cover core competencies and technical training materials used to qualify machine operators.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with HR to consistently assess the effectiveness of training procedures and update materials and curricula as required.

Requirements

• Effective problem-solving skills with an analytical and data-driven mindset
• Experience developing, implementing, and enhancing key performance indicator metrics through rigorous data analysis and continuous improvement
• Proven record of operational improvement using the DMAIC process
• Exhibits leadership with integrity and accountability
• Displays patience, perseverance, and a passion for promoting a Lean culture throughout the plant
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Qualifications

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Business/Operations or BS in Engineering
• Prior hands-on and practical experience with value stream mapping and implementing lean tools with proven results in at least 5S+1, Visual Management, Standard Work, Quick Changeover, SMED, and TPM preferred
• 5+ years of technical/operations experience with a focus on CI activities in manufacturing
• Green Belt certification required with Black Belt certification considered an advantage
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or DMAIC methodologies
