Position Summary


The Educational Program Coordinator for SCS will support the planning, coordinating, and managing of medical education events. Further, the education program coordinator will assist with monitoring event budgets and expenses, reserve facilities, order catering, and procure any materials required for an event, workshop, or lab. This may include supporting the recruitment of speakers, scheduling travel, submitting paperwork for honorariums, populating approved agreements or contracts in order to ensure events, workshops, and labs requirements are met. This position will create event pages using an education/event management system, coordinate, evaluate and prepare reports on event activities, act as a liaison between vendors and users in order to obtain requested event materials, and supervise and train student employees and/or temporary employees for events. This position requires that applicants have a valid vehicle license and the ability to travel to off-campus locations.

The job requires: knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Educational Theory and Methodology and/or a specialization in the designated area of expertise; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in planning and overseeing seminars and conferences including public relations, organizing and disseminating training materials and information both written and web- based; budget and records maintenance and computer support; experience in database, spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing, knowledge of HTML programming and web site development and management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Masters Degree in related field, knowledge or experience with membership or learning management systems, knowledge of the University's financial system, and/or knowledge of or experience in graduate medical education.
