Education Correctional Officer - Kershaw Ci, (Kershaw)

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for inmate drug testing.
• Provides the Warden with pertinent information as it relates to gang activity and suspicious behavior at the institution.
• All other job duties will be directed by the Warden.
• Assists with cell searches, contraband retrieval, employee searches, vehicle searches, and dorm searches.
• Instrumental in the prevention, detection, and seizing of contraband items at the institution.

Minimum And Additional Requirements
SCDC Minimum Requirements:

• Must have 12 months or more work experience with SCDC.
• Must be certified.
• High school graduate or GED
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Cannot have been convicted of a crime with a maximum allowable sentence of one year or more, or a fine of $1,000.
• 18 years of age or older
• Tattoos: Must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head. Tattoos on the neck will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
• Must pass a physical examination administered by SCDC.
