Job Description
  • Structural racism, systemic racism, societal trends, and influences related to racial equity, anti-racism, and effective institutional and behavioral principles and practices.
  • Coordinate SERC's programming and deliver high-quality professional learning, including logistical planning, scheduling, management, and oversight of professionals, services, and programs.
  • Intended outcomes related to government relations, community outreach, public policy, social justice, racial equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Supporting local, state, and federal initiatives advancing social justice, eliminating racism, and aligning with SERC's racial equity and social justice agenda.
  • Demonstrate understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the racial-ethnic, religious, cultural backgrounds, diverse abilities, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic disparities of colleagues and the communities we serve.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners such as state agencies, school districts, colleges, universities, and community organizations.
  • Value and operate effectively in diverse and inclusive settings.
  • Maintain an understanding of current national and state matters related to the needs of students of color.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative student, educator, and system data to plan, inform, and guide program development and evaluation, all of which would be used to monitor and adjust programming.
  • Create programs and services that support exploring institutionalized practices that perpetuate systems of oppression to create change and sustainability.
  • Plan and organize the resources needed to provide high-quality professional learning, including human capital and fiscal resources.
  • Coordinate and provide peer coaching, mentoring, modeling, and other educational and instructional support geared to enhance racially diverse learners' academic success.
  • Developing and implementing goals, objectives, practices, policies, and procedures related to racial equity and social justice.
  • Knowledge of current literature and sources of information related to racial equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Exercise interpersonal sensitivity and group interaction skills to establish and maintain effective collegial relationships.
  • Use project development and management skills; strong interpersonal skills to work with various external stakeholders to support the agency; strong attention to detail; ability to work effectively and efficiently with an internal team of consultants.
  • Communicate and market professional learning opportunities, services, products, resources, or programs.
  • Use excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills and keen attention to detail.
  • The development and implementation of racial equity, social justice, and anti-bias program development and implementation. To create multi-year strategic plans to move organizations towards becoming anti-racist, equitable, and inclusive systems.
  • Develop comprehensive job-embedded programs for professional learning content and activities that facilitate understanding structural racism and how it affects individuals and organizations.
  • Professional learning standards, research on professional learning, adult learning, and differentiated professional learning models to design the effective delivery of professional knowledge.
  • Use of assessment data that enables partners to monitor academic and social progress to drive decision-making.
  • Design, implement, evaluate, and follow up on the application of high-quality, on-site virtual professional development and technical assistance. Plan, coordinate, and deliver accessible, inclusive, and culturally relevant professional learning programs to participants' needs. Working knowledge of standards for professional learning and andragogy is vital.
  • Providing high-quality customer service and collaborative communication that is culturally responsive and accessible for multiple stakeholders, internal and external, to implement professional learning.
  • Identify the intersection of equity (race, language, culture, and ethnicity) within all aspects of education and schooling as a link to promote seamless connections and ensure coherence with the agency's vision of Equity. Excellence. Education.
