About The Position


The Education and Training Coordinator will serve as the Research Interest Group (RIG) Program Coordinator for the TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) by primarily overseeing the activities of several military nursing geographically separated TSNRP RIGs and facilitating special projects that enhance the scholarly development of military nurses. While this position does not directly conduct research, it provides positive customer service experience to support military nurses engaged in specialty research groups’ projects and dissemination activities such as publications, presentations, specialty meetings, and TSNRP courses.


This is a hybrid remote position where the employee will be required to go into the office twice a week.


About The Project


The purpose of the TriServices Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) is to fund military nursing research awards and provide knowledge products for military nurses of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. TSNRP objective is to improve fundamental nursing practice knowledge, operational management of emerging clinical practice knowledge via TSNRP funded nursing research awards and evidence-based practice projects. The knowledge products consist of the TSNRP Evidence-Based Practice Supplements, the TSNRP Battlefield and Disaster Nursing Guide, and courses. The nursing research awards funded in this cooperative agreement foster emerging nursing science that support care of service members and their beneficiaries.


Salary Range


$62,600 - $86,000. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.


Responsibilities


  • Map out training plans and schedules, design and develop training programs
  • Provide consultation to stakeholders to facilitate the development of Annual Plans, Annual Reports, Budgets, and Charters
  • Assist military nurse scholars with the development of nursing research portfolios
  • Coordinate dissemination of research in collaboration with nursing research journals
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow up to ensure training objectives are met
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for the planning of continuing education, completion of continuing education packets, associated travel expenses, course management, and other activities
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty, researchers, and subject matter experts to support development of educational programs and initiatives
  • Conduct training needs assessments, identify and recommend appropriate training programs
  • Assist in creation of training content based upon identified learning objectives
  • Choose appropriate training methods or activities (instructor led, in-person, virtual training, simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc.)
  • Administratively support the TSNRP Research and Evidence-Based Practice Dissemination Course, and associated meetings
  • Coordinate updates to the RIG website
  • Assist in editorial process, literature reviews and synthesis of lit reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Design and prepare educational aids and materials
  • Facilitate the maintenance of research and clinical inquiry products, including metrics and survey instruments, resources, software, etc.; thus, support website content/management
  • Write blogs and summaries of activities and events for dissemination on the TSNRP website, social media platforms, newsletter, annual reports, and other formats
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with subject matter experts regarding instructional design
  • Facilitate the development of a written strategic plan, outreach, and capacity building for military nursing
  • Occasional evening meetings, work on weekends may be assigned by leadership


Qualifications


  • Ability to lead, organize, and support speakers and meeting logistics online
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in fast-paced, high-pressured environment with strict deadlines and to manage multiple projects
  • 1-3 years’ non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired
  • 1-3 years’ experience in staff or project management preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
  • 1-3 years’ experience in staff training preferred
  • Customer care experience
  • Website maintenance and updating (WordPress) or WIX highly desired
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner
  • Experienced utilizing CVENT or other Program Management Support tools preferred
  • Computer skills including at least intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software
  • Master’s degree with federal and/or clinical research experience preferred
  • Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication
  • U.S. licensure as a Registered Nurse required
