Primary Function
The Editorial Support Coordinator will work within a team to support the Editorial, Newsgathering, Newsroom, Program and Production department of an international broadcaster. The Editorial Support Coordinator will create and maintain the schedules of individuals or teams within the organization. Maintains all aspects of staff scheduling and staffing guidelines. This includes working closely with the department Editors to capture accurate information regarding staff absences as well as deploying additional help, as needed. The incumbent will be responsible for the availability of staff and resources against incoming requests and deadlines. Additionally, they will be a key contributor to ensuring the highest quality of journalism from the field and from Iran International’s newsroom.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Working with Producers and Editors on setting deadlines, planning travel arrangements, and other administrative duties.
- Ensuring schedules for the department are accurate (recording shifts, leave, sickness), planned.
- Fulfil any post-production paperwork as necessary, including archive rights and music reporting.
- Maintain, operate, and evaluate a range of office processes and administrative systems to ensure the smooth running of the team and accurate record keeping for the department and deployments.
- Establishes staffing patterns and schedules for Editorial team.
- Weekly reports highlighting in the department – overtime, cost of employing additional staff, tardiness, and unplanned absences for staff.
- Works with human resources to advise them of staffing needs, terminations, and other information necessary for a balance schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work with Finance department to create and administer POs for the department.
- Assists in securing staff for absences, leaves, etc., adjusting schedules as required.

- Strong understanding of production life cycle
- Willing to gain a strong understanding of Iran International’s editorial vision.
- Sound knowledge and experience in utilizing a scheduling.
- Able to establish and maintain effective relations with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or related experience is required.
