Digital Content Editor
Summary: The Digital Content Editor, Point of Care works with the Point of Care Editorial Team to copyedit Clinical Overviews and coordinate style alignment for Point of Care content. Responsible for ensuring the editorial integrity of the Clinical Overviews and related content, including editorial policies and style guides, and managing content formats and specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities: ·
· Copyedit content to ensure compliance with editorial policies and style guidelines ·
· Review content for organization and clarity and provide feedback as necessary to Medical Editors and Editor-in-Chief
· Ensure quality content and meet content delivery deadlines as set by editorial team ·
· Maintain content of style guide, templates, and editorial policies ·
· Propose enhancements of existing development processes to continuously improve content quality and timeliness and to meet customer needs ·
· Attend and participate in monthly Digital Content Editorial team meetings to discuss editing challenges, best practices, workflow, and style changes ·
· Work with Image and Permission coordinators to review, correct, and approve images for Clinical Overviews ·
· Other duties or tasks as assigned
Qualifications: ·
Bachelor’s degree ·
At least 5 years of editorial experience and 3 years of copyediting experience in medical publishing ·
Excellent communication, management, organizational, and editorial skills, with ability to meet tight deadlines
Knowledge of and experience in communication with clinicians/health care professionals
Overview:
The Point of Care Digital Content Editorial team copyedits Clinical Overviews, an online decision-support resource that addresses the full spectrum medical conditions for an audience of specialists in internal medicine. Adherence to style guide, collaboration with physician editors, ability to uphold high quality standards, and meeting deadlines are all key aspects of the Editorial team’s responsibilities.
Requirement:
· Has background in medical publishing, including familiarity with the AMA Manual of Style (11th edition) and medical and scientific terminology; willing to work as a team player to resolve editing and workflow challenges; is well organized, detail oriented, and committed to meeting deadlines and high quality standards; familiar with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
· Ability to copyedit high-level medical content; excellent verbal and written communication skills; time management
· At least 5 years of editorial experience and 3 of years copyediting experience in medical publishing. Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or the sciences, with academic work and/or professional experience in the medical field or editing medical content.
· Standard core hours with some variation (eg, Pacific Standard Time).
· Conformity to style guide; consistently meeting deadlines; confidence in interacting with physician editors; familiarity with workflow processes; attention to detail; participation in team meetings.
