POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs professional, technical and administrative duties of cardiac ultrasound procedures using specialized ultrasound equipment at highly advanced level. Participates in routine and intermediate functional administration of department. Provides functional staff training. Provides functional guidance to physicians. Recommends changes/improvements to administrative process. Demonstrates competent leadership abilities in research, development, implementation and completion of on-going and multiple performance improvement projects. Functions as preceptor and resource to Cardiac Sonographer student and Cardiac Sonographer Level I and II.

Must be certified in both echocardiography and Vascular ultrasound.

Must be willing to work on NY Manhattan office and in NJ offices.

Must be willing to work occasional Saturdays.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound or cardiovascular ultrasound program required. Current and valid ARDMS/CCI registry in Adult Echo/Vascular required. Maintains current and valid CPR certification.

EXPERIENCE:
Three years' experience Cardiac Sonographer.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Combines critical thinking and analytical skill to solve multi-tiered and/or out of the box problems. Devises solution to problems quickly recommending changes or improvements to existing solutions. Quickly learns new techniques and correctly implements into practice. Demonstrates excellent oral, written and interactive skills. Detail orientated with ability to perform quality assurance against lab policies and procedures. Cooperative team player. Role model and leader capable of positively and correctly handling multiple priorities in a fast paced, fluid environment. Steps in with little background.
