Job Description
Are you familiar with working with individuals in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities community?
Have you provided one-on-one support to children or adults who exhibit behaviors such as Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression, Elopement, Inappropriate Sensory Seeking, or Unfounded Accusatory Behaviors?
At KIDS NW, we recognize that Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) can feel unsupported when dealing with challenging behaviors in the IDD community. That's why we have a full Behavior Team accessible to every family and DSP, regardless of the level of behavior exhibited. Our highly trained Behavior team is committed to providing the best possible support to our DSPs.
In addition to our Behavior team, KIDS NW offers a range of exciting benefits for our DSPs, including a starting wage of $22 per hour, flexible scheduling, and benefits such as 401(k), dental insurance, health insurance, paid time off, vision insurance, and access to the Healthiest You Program.
Our ideal candidate should have experience in behavioral mental health, including working with escalated behaviors, and an understanding of Behavioral Support Plans and Individual Support Plans.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have at least one year of experience as a care provider, teacher/aid, or support staff, be legally eligible to work in the United States, be able to pass a background check, have an active drivers license/auto insurance and understand the importance of confidentiality.
At KIDS NW, we're committed to providing a supportive culture for our DSPs to help individuals in the IDD community achieve their full potential.
