Role Summary
As a Medical Dosimetrist, you are responsible for driving and delivering efficient, effective, high-quality radiotherapy planning activities. This position is responsible for providing dosimetry services levels to customers as part of a virtual and credentialed workforce.

Reporting lines:
As a Medical Dosimetrist, you report directly to the Director of Dosimetry - Solutions
You have no direct or indirect reports.

Reporting lines and direct reports may change from time to time in line with the role’s requirements.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Committed to an innovative and continuous learning culture, with an awareness of the current and emerging technology solutions related to dosimetry
  • Liaise with customer radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, medical physicists, and therapists as necessary.
  • Assist, if required, with the implementation of QA procedures, including but not limited to reviewing dosimetry plans and ensuring planning and pre-treatment procedures and protocols adhere.
  • Design and implement customised dosimetry solutions with prospective customers to enable efficient and effective provision of services.
  • Ensure administration and dosimetry documentation requirements are initiated and completed professionally and timely manner consistent with contracted service levels.
  • Facilitate engagement and education as required with customers to ensure standardised, consistent, and high-quality dosimetry plans are generated
  • Calculate and re-plan patient cases as per agreed service level and/or at the approved request of the customer.
  • Use the DICOM data provided (i.e. CT, MRI, PET) to design an optimum treatment plan and generate the dosimetry information requested as per contracted service levels.
  • Apply automation and technological solutions to improve dosimetry quality and efficiency to benefit patients and customers.
  • Maintains confidentiality on all issues.
  • Assist with implementing and designing new techniques and procedures with prospective customers and technical experts.
  • Documents and communicates all facets of the treatment plan to customers whilst always adhering to jurisdictional data and information security requirements.
  • Directs the customer’s simulation or dosimetry staff as needed to obtain the appropriate patient data and directs the acquisition of tomographic image data (i.e. CT, MRI, PET).
  • Support team to facilitate and complete initial due diligence of our prospective customers' existing workflow, systems, and dosimetry requirements.

Your key working relationships:
As a Medical Dosimetrist, you need to develop strong relationships with the following internal parties:
  • Solutions Managed Services team
  • Customer physician, dosimetry, physics, and therapist teams
  • GenesisCare Solutions Leadership Team

In addition, you need to develop strong external relationships with various individuals/agencies/key stakeholders.

Experience:
  • Three years of clinical dosimetry experience, with a preference for multiple treatment planning systems
  • Demonstrated technical competence in all areas of radiotherapy at an appropriate level (i.e. treatment, simulation and dosimetry), including comprehensive knowledge of contemporary radiotherapy modalities and advanced dosimetry techniques
  • Certification as a Medical Dosimetrist from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board
  • Associate’s of Science or Bachelor’s degree in the physical or biological sciences
