Canine To Five is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative for our busy dog daycare and boarding facility in Midtown Detroit, MI.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Client Experience Representative at Canine To Five is the first friendly face all clients will see each time they enter a facility and is essential to client retention. As such, the role demands a friendly and caring professional who never forgets a face, is positive at all hours of the working day, and skilled in up-selling additional services and benefits. The reception position is also responsible for charging and accepting payment, clerical work related to clients and their dogs, safely escorting dogs throughout the facility at a quick pace, and additional projects as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Detailed cleaning including vacuuming, moping, wiping, scrubbing
  • Excellent decision-making, multi-tasking in a fast paced environment and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the building at a fast pace over a typical 8 hour day
  • Able to move dogs throughout areas of the building at a fast pace
  • Positive attitude and team oriented
  • Customer-Centric with one or more years of relevant customer service/sales experience
  • Excellent planning, negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Familiar with basic computer software such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite including Word/Docs, Calendar, Excel/Sheets, Gmail, chat software and file systems
  • Availability Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays
  • Passionate About Caring for Dogs
  • Some knowledge of using Customer Resource Management software
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Acceptable completion of necessary Gingr training

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Greeting each client and their dog during drop off and pick-up for all services

Client messaging such as requesting updated vaccines, updating the client on their dog’s behavior, giving general information about events

Upselling additional services (ie: Freshen Pup, Peanut Butter Kong, etc.) on the spot to all daycare and boarding clients

Totaling, charging, and accepting payment for all services

Clerical tasks such as: keeping and updating client/pet records, filing, faxing/copying

Answer phones, direct calls, and take detailed messages

Return all reception messages within 2 hour of receipt

Orientate new customers through the drop-off process

Process incoming boarding dogs and ensure instructions with clients are correct and accurate

Assist the client in emailing or uploading required vaccines to the Gingr portal or calling their vet or shelter on the client’s behalf to obtain the vaccine records.

Check-in/out all daycare dogs

General upkeep of the reception areas including picking up dog waste and proper disposal

Occasional exterior work related to the beautification of the facility including checking and pulling weeds, watering flowers, clearing walks of snow and ice

Accept and record important messages from staff for the daily log

Receive and respond to all client emails designated by the supervisor

All other duties as assigned to achieve desired corporate objectives
