Job Duties

Provides mental health services to probationer/parolees including crisis intervention, screening, psychological assessment and evaluation (psychological test administration, scoring, interpretation and report writing), psychoeducational services, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and re-entry planning under the supervision and direction of the Regional Mental Health Clinician. Screens, tracks and monitors probationer/parolees with mental health services needs in coordination with assigned Probation or Parole Officers. Provides consultation and training to Probation and Parole Staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Relevant professional experience with progressively responsible experiences in the provision of mental health services to a varied population.
Training and experience in the treatment of mental disorders and the ability to develop intervention and treatment plans and to provide individual and group counseling or therapy.
Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practices.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and to provide training.
Relevant professional experience under supervision to include demonstrated skills in psychological assessment including diagnostic interviewing, intelligence and personality testing and interpretation and report writing.
Experience providing mental health services in a correctional, forensic, outpatient or other setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate degree in Psychology (clinical or counseling) or equivalent degree in related human services field from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with advanced coursework in psychology.
Licensed as a mental health professional and/or certified as a service provider.
Experience in correctional, forensic, mental health or other institutional setting.
