Overview
Our District Manager position is accountable for the leadership of multiple Fleet Feet Southeast locations and works to ensure sales and profitability goals are met across the designated district. Our District Manager works to support, coach, and develop store leaders to achieve financial objectives, develop their teams and people, and develop and grow the market. This position must be based in the Southeast.

Responsibilities
The District Manager role is responsible for developing and building a positive and inclusive culture while contributing to the overall running culture in our communities. When you join Fleet Feet, you are joining a community that ignites and promotes running and fitness.
  • Able and willing to travel 50-60% of the time to stores within assigned district
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Fleet Feet’s policies and procedures reducing risk and maintaining compliance
  • Maintain and communicate consistent practices across district
  • Collaborate with other internal team members including but not limited to Human Resources and Field Marketing
  • Oversee and coach store leaders on consistently achieving financial objectives by creating annual business plans, reviewing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initializing corrective actions
  • Identify and develop employees with potential through on-the-job training opportunities, performance metrics, and performance reviews
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all day-to-day operational policies and procedures
  • Other duties as required
  • Identify training needs and individual coaching needs within assigned district, identify trends, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver on needs
  • Partner with Operating Partners and store leaders to drive strategic objectives and accountabilities
  • Mentor, coach, and develop store leaders
  • Coach and hold leaders accountable for having career development conversations with their team and building talent pipelines
  • Conduct regular meetings with store leaders to build and maintain strong working relationships and culture
  • Utilize coaching, counseling, and corrective action techniques to enhance employee and location performance

  • 5+ years retail leadership experience required; multi-unit experience preferred

Additional Requirements: Position requires occasional moving around with light (1-10lbs.) carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling. The position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office equipment, etc. The position is mostly sedentary and requires the employee to have close visual acuity to perform job requirements. The position requires frequent communication with team members and repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and/or fingers while constantly utilizing a computer. This position is located within an office environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
