Position Summary
The Distribution and Logistics Analyst will be responsible to support the Transportation and 3PL Managers by ensuring reliable, flexible and high-quality service for Supply Chain operations. This includes timely and accurate KPI’s with accurate data to ensure compliance with company and customer policy and procedures. This position will also review process flows and conduct spend, lane and mode analysis (Nexus) with the goal of optimizing efficiency and reducing cost without compromising quality of service keeping customer needs / requirements on the forefront.
The Distribution and Logistics Analyst will plan, optimize, and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments. They will lead daily/weekly planning meetings with core team members and transportation carriers to ensure shipments are shipped and received on time. Will be required to utilize TMS reporting for load planning and enforcing data consistency by carriers in the TMS. The analyst will support the Transportation Manager in the monitoring of freight invoices, submission of freight claims, and coordinating with key stakeholders to resolve shipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor inbound shipments to ensure shipments are moving timely from the port of entry to the DC.
  • Support the Transportation and Distribution Centers with data management and process improvements.
  • Analyzes TMS reporting to actively identify potential issues. Drives fast, appropriate actions to minimize the impact of disruptions to customers. Communicates these actions to stakeholders.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal & external stakeholders to meet compliance and customer requirements. Ensure timelines and expectations are well understood and aligned - Communication tree between stakeholders.
  • Works closely with the Transportation Manager, Supply Chain partners, and external carrier suppliers to problem solve, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Responsible for developing standardized KPI’s, track & enhance performance. Oversees inventory of materials to ensure accuracy of records and reports. Reconciles discrepancies and monitors flow of paper or electronic transactions for timely data entry.
  • Monitor TMS portal and reporting to ensure milestone and document requirements are fulfilled timely by carrier suppliers.
  • Submit carrier invoices received to the accounting team with the appropriate GL information.
  • Submit and track carrier claims for lost or damaged goods.
  • Extensive knowledge of shipping and distribution channels, including Nexus interfaces and reports
  • Develop, update, and maintain relevant SOPs, training materials and work instructions related to serialization compliance. Ensure business continuity and strict adherence of process.
  • Other tasks may be assigned.
  • Utilize the TMS (Infor Nexus) to create transport plans for customer orders. Optimize and consolidate whenever possible to reduce cost while meeting customer delivery requirements.
  • Leads daily / weekly team meetings using TMS flex-views and reporting to plan capacity for the day, week, and month ahead.
Basic Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation). Ability to present information to cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks to assure timely completion in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel techniques; fluency with “Vlookups”/ Pivot Tables.
  • Strong understanding of transportation industry levers (i.e., on-time delivery, LTL and TL, demurrage, etc.)
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a four-year college/university required.
  • Proficient with MS Office.

  • Galderma specific experience may be considered in lieu of above experience
  • Experience with TMS functionality
