Overview
The Charles Koch Foundation (CKF) partners with social entrepreneurs to remove the barriers that prevent people from reaching their potential. Through grants to universities and non-profit organizations, we connect students and scholars with the resources to explore diverse ideas and solutions that meet the challenges of our day.
The higher education team at CKF is hiring a Director, Work & Learn to build and execute a plan for engaging employers and educators to develop innovative educational pathways that help people cultivate their aptitudes and find purpose through mutual benefit in the workplace.
Your Responsibilities Include
  • Maintain strong knowledge of CKF’s strategies and goals, include an up-to-date perspective on progress to goals.
  • Supervise and mentor grantmakers, researchers, and project managers who work across CKF’s grantmaking portfolios.
  • Act as Team Lead overseeing daily operations of grantowners, researchers, and project managers.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and maintain a broad strategy for ensuring strong knowledge sharing and collaboration across CKF’s portfolios.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and pursue opportunities to improve the efficacy of CKF’s capabilities.
  • Support direct report growth through application of Principles Based Management.
  • Ensure that direct reports have access to resources that support compliance and honor donor intent and are incentivized to utilize them.
  • When compliant, collaborate with capabilities across the Stand Together community to leverage the impact of grants.
Knowledge And Skills You Bring To The Organization
  • Willingness to travel as needed to build potential CKF partnerships
  • Ability to drive strategy an execute on objectives to connect to overall vision, and evolve based on lessons learned from grantmaking across the work and learn portfolio
  • 5+ years of experience relevant to relationship management
  • Experience supporting or managing a portfolio of investments or a funding, reflecting a strong grasp of donor intent, as well as marginal analysis and clear connection to objectively observable goals.
  • A passion for the Charles Koch Foundation’s mission and the principles of human progress.
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy analytical approach to investment decision-making and evaluation
  • 3+ years of leading teams or supervisory experience
  • Confident oral communicator with superior interpersonal skills
  • High sense of urgency and a natural self-starter
  • An innate ability to identify and foster a network of mutually beneficial partnerships
  • Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams and drive multiple concurrent projects
