This redesigned role will direct all the activities related to the flow of product from Mexico to USA which has become a prominent business priority. This person will lead a team composed by the MDLZ on-site managers and 3PLs, overseeing business of 2.9bn in revenue. Responsible for the 3PLs’ performance ensuring this team focuses on every day great execution, delivering service metrics with the right quality and expected cost per case in a fully safe environment


The role is also responsible for the evolution of the Network in terms of new sites, transitions and closings plus the development of omni-channel capabilities within the four walls of the Fulfillment Center to support the needs of the different channels (e.g. Amazon Vendor-Flex, drop ship, re-packing, etc) and work very close to the "Customer-Supply-Chain" team to execute shipment conditions as agreed with MDLZ customers, avoiding Customers’ quality claims, fines and fees, currently representing an opportunity of about $5MM every year.


The right candidate will possess exceptional emotional intelligence, is highly data-driven and results-oriented, provides thought leadership and can create and execute strategy, builds trust and relationships, and is a strong communicator and leader. We are looking for someone who can be a master of execution and project management, with strong people manager skills, holding the team accountable and ensuring that deadlines are met across high-priority projects. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and instinctive, with a natural ability to solve problems and seek new information


Strategy and Content Creation


  • Strategic thinker with the ability to foresee the impact of multiple projects, oversee pacing of high-level projects for US/NA.
  • Charts and leads the path for the Innovation agenda for Warehouse and Distribution, including Warehouse Management System, Yard management, Labor Management System, etc, working in close cooperation with the COE and IS partners.
  • Support as needed any regional warehousing capacity planning, network studies, process workflow, quality, continuous improvement, sustainability, and/or related initiatives.


Operational Environment


Engage the Operations team (MDLZ and 3PL together) to achieve high performance in service, safety and quality to ensure maximum compliance and meet or exceed KPIs. Lead waste elimination and cost reduction.


  • Leads DMS management to ensure consistency and reporting discipline.
  • Ensure full line by line understanding of Monthly 3PL's cost to ensure charges are aligned to expectations and approved exceptions.
  • Defines and communicate common warehousing metrics and KPIs to measure operational performance and service delivery for third-party logistics operations.
  • Is this creating strategies to increase the sites throughput and follow up on the productivity initiatives to deliver AC commitments


Networking


  • Experience with contract management activities for a third-party logistics providers.
  • Partners with Procurement to ensure contracts reflect details needed for MDLZ success from the quality, service and cost perspective
  • Manager of people and indirect (3PL’s) teams which requires the ability to lead directly and strongly influence indirectly
  • Versatility with an ability to adapt and be able to deal with ambiguity and lead change
  • In collaboration with CS&L SSMT, maintain and update a consistent and dynamic approach to risk assessment, mitigation and business continuity planning.
  • Highly developed leadership and communication skills, the ability to motivate a staff, get things done through others and familiarity with related procedures and best practices.
  • 10+ years in operational supply chain roles in logistics, distribution, and warehousing with demonstrated involvement with warehouse operations, as well as processes and logistics compliance and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of planning and budgeting process
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Certifications in IL6S, Black Belt or Master Black Belt, proven CI/Lean Manufacture experience desired.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes & current best practices.
  • Identifies improvement projects opportunities and works in collaboration with the COE to implement change and address.
  • Experience managing in a diverse, highly matrixed, highly regulated, multi-cultural environment.
