Job Description

Location: Georgia, Colorado, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, and Northern California (Remote but with 20% travel to different facilities)

Position: Director of Strategic Sourcing

Pay Rate: $ 120.03/hr

Duration: Temp to hire

Expected Shift: 40 hrs/week


Position Summary:

Responsible for the development and management of Category Management/Strategic Sourcing organization for care critical Indirect Sourcing Goods and Services; driving value, service, quality and innovation. Manage a spend portfolio of $0.5-0.8 Bn. This person owns and builds key supplier relationships and directly interacts with senior internal stakeholders, overseeing the implementation of stakeholder goals through external partnerships or solutions and efficiencies on the source to pay spectrum.


Essential Responsibilities and skills required:

  • Change Management - Adopting change practices with customers, suppliers and stakeholders to implement programs like Source to Pay transformation, Category Management training program.
  • Analytics and Digital mindset: Demonstrated track record of leveraging analytics and insights in driving decisions. Have a digital mindset to adopt new technologies to take the organization to the next level.
  • People development: Invest in the development of category management/supply chain talent in KP via active coaching, succession planning, high potential talent management. Leverage and contribute to the KP’ Category Management training program.
  • Citizenship - Responsible and accountable for leading their team in achieving KP’s Sustainability and Environmental goals; in addition, responsible to help KP to further advance results in the EPP (Environmentally Preferable Purchasing).
  • Additional detailed responsibilities/functions to support above: Stay current on external and internal influences that may impact the larger organization, including Healthcare Reform, macroeconomic issues, etc. Collaborate with other Portfolio Leads, Sourcing, Procurement Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and SRM COE Teams to advance Category Management capabilities.
  • Leadership: Generate a shared vision within area of expertise for team members/peers to follow. Consistently challenge the process to discover new and different ways to approach the challenges of the organization. Demonstrate a high degree of professional integrity and ethical responsibility in making strategic decisions, managing teams and business activities.
  • Communication: Required to interact with senior leadership frequently to review and drive decisions. Required to have exceptional verbal and written communication and coaching skills.
  • Negotiations/Bids/Contract management: Proven track record leading major commercial negotiations or bids to deliver value. Have strategic approach to the process and able to coach the team. Able to lead negotiation of contracts in partnership with legal.
  • Client & Supplier Relationship management: Work closely with key customers, identify and understand their key initiatives. Identify and understand their short, medium, and long-term goals. Work with the suppliers to identify and pursue opportunities to drive interventions in line with client expectations to drive value, innovation, service/supply resiliency, quality of care and governance.
  • Category Management/Strategic Sourcing: Develop category/spend strategies for all key categories with an extensive knowledge of the markets, suppliers and stakeholder needs. Drive clear, informed decisions based upon a multi-year strategy. Owns end to end delivery of business needs for the categories under management.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • ExperienceMinimum seven to ten years of experience including practice and two to four years of team leadership experience in category management.


  • EducationBachelor's degree in business administration, finance, operations research, materials management, economics or related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.


Additional Requirements

  • Experience in deploying and utilizing structured strategic sourcing methodology and leading cross functional teams.
  • Highly desired experience in leading Source to Pay transformation projects


  • Preferred Qualifications:MBA, Master's in supply chain operations or relevant field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • Experience in CPG, Retail or Healthcare companies
