Job Description

The Director, Planning Design and Construction QA/QC & Safety is responsible for development of Quality Assurance/Quality and monitoring safety programs for all Jefferson capital projects. The programs shall include the continuation of the development and implementation of PDC “Standard Operation Procedures- SOP” along with the development and implementation of project safety program. The director to coordinate with PDC project managers and project team to ensure safe, efficient, and effective execution of the approved capital program for Jefferson. The Director also responsible for coordination with RE, PMO, Security and Facilities to ensure all policies and procedures are in compliance.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain project site visit checklist
  • Assist PDC VP with staff training, performance review and feedback.
  • Develop, implement and periodic update of the PDC quality assurance and quality control programs for all Jefferson capital projects
  • Develop, implement and periodic update of the PDC Standard Operation Procedures
  • Responsible to maintenance and periodic update of project update and work load projection worksheets
  • Responsible for development, implementation and monitoring of PDC SOP compliance
  • Ensure basis of design (BOD) and project scope, budget and schedule are clearly define and adhere to.
  • Periodic review and audit of the “Project Progression Form (PPF)” for each project manager and report findings to PDC Directors
  • Ensures proper staffing of workload utilizing centralized PDC staff resources as required.
  • Ensure job safety program (such as OHSA, ILSM) are strictly followed.
  • Ensure Safety Risk Assessment (SRA) and Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) processes and procedure are being strictly followed.
  • Ensures adherence to Jefferson policies and procedures and to all external regulatory requirements in the execution of capital projects
  • Ensure Jefferson Standards are being followed via periodic review and audit
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related is required.

Experience in OSHA Construction safety, ICRA, ILSM is preferred.

Professional registration or licensure (RA, PE) is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 10 years of related experience in healthcare and / or higher education capital project management.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Facility Guidelines institute for Healthcare Construction and building codes. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and e-Builder required.
