The Director, Product Marketing will play a crucial role in crafting the strategic direction for the overall Product & Services roadmap for Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc. Working closely with the VP of Corporate Marketing as well as the VP of ICT Services, this role will be responsible for leading a team of product marketing experts in developing comprehensive go-to-market strategies for products and services the company chooses to bring to market.


A sense of urgency and efficiency are critical skill sets for this role with a strength in multitasking across various product disciplines. This will include, but is not limited to, hardware and software products developed by Kyocera Document Solutions Corporation, locally developed software products, the introduction of new services, and all 3rd party products that will be sold through Kyocera channels in the Americas. A deep understanding of product lifecycle management as well as GTM strategy development and execution will drive the day-to-day interaction with the product marketing and as well as the rest of the corporate marketing team.


  • Work closely with Sales Administration on forecasting activities and phase in/out strategies for product launches.
  • Management and execution of pricing and approval process for new and existing offerings.
  • Overall product lifecycle management that includes product portfolio rationalization.
  • Develop pricing and promotional strategies and proposals as needed to drive Kyocera’s revenue and profit.
  • Responsibility for the mentoring and development of a team of product marketing managers and product specialists.
  • Identification and recommendation of new products/services to bring to market within KDA-G.
  • Oversee and support the team with the design and execution of go-to-market strategies. Including but not limited to market analysis and product positioning, marketing collateral, digital marketing strategies, technical requirements, business planning, sales enablement, support, training, and sales strategy implementation.
  • Understand key marketing performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analysis, and consumer trends in order to translate results into actionable insights for the marketing team
  • Ability to provide structured feedback to executive management and R&D teams for product enhancements and product future roadmap development, including VOC/VOM data.


Supervisory responsibilities


Supervises assigned employee(s) within the Product Marketing team and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies. These responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance and salary reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to further their skills and knowledge; creating and monitoring development plans; setting performance expectations/goals; forecasting staffing needs and planning for peak times and absences; enforcing department policies and procedures.


Required


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in B2B marketing required. Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role required.
  • Superb leadership, communication, and collaboration capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree with a major or emphasis in Marketing, Communications, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Experience in leading and managing large, complex projects.
  • Experience with data, measurement, and analytics competency preferred.
  • Experience working with in-house sales team a plus.
  • Advanced ability to drive creativity and innovation.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.


Other considerations


The Corporate Marketing Group works with an Agile methodology and uses Scrum as a framework for planning purposes. The team plans its activities in sprints of three weeks and captures all the activities in a digital platform (Jira). Four teams run four sprints in parallel and they conduct ceremonies regularly. The Senior Director for Product Marketing must be familiar with Agile and Scrum and will play a critical role to keep enforcing and enhancing this way of working so the team deliver the highest possible quality in the most efficient way.
