Job Description

Accupac seeks to hire a full-time Director of Sustainability to work a hybrid schedule with our team in Harleysville, PA!


The Director of Sustainability will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of company-wide sustainability and environmental strategies, initiatives, policies, and training. The Director of Sustainability will work directly with Accupac leadership to drive ESG strategy, including monitoring industry, customer, and regulatory developments. The Director of Sustainability will also lead the company efforts in all areas of ESG reporting, including ESG report, setting goals, and gathering and reporting performance data.


The Director of Sustainability serves as a thought leader on ESG reporting and disclosures to ensure the company is up to date on ESG reporting frameworks and disclosures, standards, and trends. The role includes providing direction on the latest ESG trends, translating those trends to strategies and action plans for Accupac, and communicating strategies to internal and external stakeholders. The Director of Sustainability will also help to create buy-in for critical initiatives and ensure alignment with Accupac’s overall and ESG strategy. The ideal candidate has proven subject-matter expertise in ESG, project management experience, and is analytical, collaborative, proactive, and driven.


Director of Sustainability Essential Function:


Strategy

  • Translate strategy into actionable execution plans including establishing key metrics, key initiatives, and program milestones.
  • Monitor and analyze external trends, regulations, customer expectations and competitor landscape for insights to inform ongoing strategy development.
  • Develop the Company’s short- and long-term ESG strategy and roadmap, taking into consideration customer and other stakeholder expectations, regulatory environment and the Company’s overall strategy.


ESG Metrics and Reporting

  • Conduct regular assessments to identify areas of improvement in environmental impact, social responsibility and corporate governance.
  • Develop responses to external ESG questions and requests.
  • Establish and track ESG metrics, targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and report on ESG performance.
  • Develop company’s ESG reporting practices aligned with company-wide goals, stakeholder needs, and external reporting frameworks and requirements.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to create and publish the company’s annual ESG report and other public disclosures, ensuring accuracy of information and applying relevant standards and frameworks (e.g., SASB, GRI, SDGs).
  • Lead and coordinate company-wide tools for ESG measurement and monitoring; monitor compliance with ESG-related policies.
  • Help develop and maintain an ESG scorecard for functional leaders and the executive team.
  • Lead ESG-focused external engagements with customers, industry groups, investors, ESG rating agencies, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to implement and conduct employee training programs and engagement campaigns to promote ESG principles across the organization.


Initiatives

  • Partner across functions, including strategy, operations, supply chain, human resources, legal and compliance and marketing, to successfully develop and implement programs and actions to drive measurable progress versus ESG goals


Thought Leadership

  • Assist in ESG content including but not limited to Board of Director presentations, Company All-Hands, employee training, and other ad hoc needs
  • Advise senior management on emerging ESG topics and best practices while maintaining a keen understanding of the broader industry landscape around sustainability developments, targets, goals, and competitive trends


Director of Sustainability Position Requirements:

  • Experience in sustainability in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge in sustainability, climate change, ESG topics, and current trends.
  • 5+ years of professional experience, including time developing ESG strategy and implementing ESG initiatives that tie to strategic business objectives.
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field; master's degree a strong asset but not required.
  • Experience in ESG reporting, including third-party ESG ratings (e.g., EcoVadis CDP).
