This is a fixed term position.

The Director of Operations and Administration reports to the Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men’s Basketball and is primarily responsible for the direction and operational oversight of all Men’s Basketball activities for Stanford University. The Director of Operations and Administration serves as the point person for all Men’s Basketball operations. This position is based on the Stanford main campus.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for other duties as assigned
  • Team Travel: responsible for travel arrangements, including hotel, transportation, rental cars and preparation of itinerary
  • Administration: provide administrative support to all coaches, coordinate and communicate regularly with the Pac-12 conference office and other external key contacts, provide support in game attendance initiatives
  • Summer Camps: assist with summer camp organization and lead all camp administrative tasks
  • Reception: provide a warm reception, assistance, and information to all office visitors and guests, ensure initial contact is appropriately directed
  • Budget management: oversee and manage budget, process all invoices and other purchases in accounting system
  • Team Operations: organize, plan, and manage team meals, team parties and meetings, extra events, player pass lists etc.
  • This position may be required to travel to away competitions as needed
  • Special Events: coordinate team banquets, alumni gatherings etc.
  • Recruiting: create recruiting graphics, assist in the recruitment process to include maintenance and organization of the recruiting and compliance databases, take part in on-campus recruiting activities
  • Supervision: oversee the Video Coordinator, Admin Assistant, and student managers to include time and leave scheduling and performance evaluation

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Background in intercollegiate athletics is highly desired
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; analytical problem solver who is well adjusted in dealing with complex business issues involving a diverse group student athletes, coaches, and administrators
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills, ability to use sound judgment and have attention to detail
  • Demonstrated professional strengths in the areas of compliance and daily operations including possessing or developing an understanding of the University’s financial systems (Oracle Financials) or other similar systems (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task
  • Candidate should be well versed in all relevant new technologies, innovations, and applications.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills, and an ability to write professionally

The expected pay range for this position is $64,480 - $85,000 per annum.
