Director of Nursing – Consumer Experience and Access

The Director of Nursing - Consumer Experience and Access plans, coordinates, and directs activities of assigned Clinical Nursing Service to ensure effective department management and quality of patient care are in compliance with regulatory requirements and established standards of care. They also direct the delivery of nursing and related services within a department in accordance with the organizational framework, objectives, and policies of the Hospital. In addition, they are responsible for defining nursing standards, assigning functions, and determining nursing clinical practices and methodologies in the department in consultation with Sr. Leadership.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Initiating, promoting, and participating in nursing studies and research.
  • Administering personnel policies in the selection, employment, performance evaluation, promotion, termination and credentialing of nursing staff.
  • Facilitating a system for communication and problem solving among nursing leadership and promoting a nursing division climate of shared governance.
  • Directing and ensuring the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of standards of practice for clinical areas.
  • Monitoring current issues, practices and trends related to health care and the practice of nursing health administration.

This role will be based out of our corporate office in Midtown Manhattan and will require travel to our other sites as needed.

Preferred Criteria

  • Masters in Nursing or related field if already holds a BSN degree. Either bachelors or graduate degree must be in nursing.
  • Demonstrated proven success in leadership, team-building, high reliability systems and inspiring nurses to perform at the highest level
  • Experience working in an academic medical setting and Magnet designated hospital
  • Crucial skills include inter-professional collaboration, quality models, driving accountability, decision-making and optimization of the patient/family experience
  • American Nurses Credentialing Center approved national board certification

Required Criteria

  • BSN
  • Current NYS RN Licensure
  • Demonstrated managerial skills
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience with ambulatory access and consumer experience programs
