Position Title: Director of Logistics and Warehousing


  • Create robust risk management practices ensuring that agility, visibility, and resilience are built to ensure 100% manufacturing throughput is maintained without disruption
  • Work closely with our Commercial Organization to understand OEM customer requirements for outbound logistics.
  • Deploy modern logistics tools to optimize inventory, provide real-time supply chain visibility while ensuring digital investments return a positive ROI that support the business ambition
  • Lead by example and promote a customer focused, results driven and accountable team.
  • Establish relationships with leadership at each of our 3PL suppliers.
  • Establish and execute short-term and long-term strategy to optimize end-to-end logistics with a focus on reducing the cash conversion cycle for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Oversee logistics and warehousing focused on achieving key KPIs in cost per GWh and inventory accuracy.
  • Strategic Supply Chain Logistics and Warehouse Management
  • Create and implement a high-performance culture within the Logistics and Warehouse team.
  • Manage all outbound logistics to multiple customers located across north America.
  • Develop, present, and execute action plans to support achievement of agreed commitments and optimization projects that continuously improve quality, cost, and reliability
  • Establish strategic relationships with each OEM customer for outbound transportation management.
  • Talent Management
  • Create and deliver continuous improvement roadmap to optimize the logistics function
  • Lead logistics and warehousing performance review and approval meetings that set
  • Provide supply chain logistics functional expertise to guide and advise management across demand, supply, production, and inventory.
  • Develop an engaging talent-management program to attract and retain top supply chain talent that infuses this start-up with professional and experienced talent
  • Manage the 3PL service provider who will operate the raw materials warehouse operations focused on key KPIs including cost, damage rate, throughput, and inventory accuracy.
  • Supply Chain Function Management
  • KPI objectives and performance standards
  • Partner with factory production teams to ensure alignment on daily production to manage transportation on outbound shipments
  • Promote employee development through training, project opportunities for skills expansion, and individual development plans for all team members.
  • Develop talent to ensure career pathing continuously infuses logistics and warehousing with industry leading supply chain practices and operational improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Japan-based business units as well as partner with current and future North America Operations as we execute an aggressive growth and expansion strategy.
  • In collaboration with Business Transformation team and IT, develop and support the implementation of a new SAP ERP system.
  • Partner with SCM Planning to ensure delivery of raw materials meet daily and weekly production plans.
  • Oversee outbound movement of raw materials from warehouse into the factory dock operations.
  • Develop strategy, performance measures, and business reviews with each of our 3PL suppliers across logistics and warehousing.
Minimum Qualifications:


  • Proven background setting up a best-in-class logistics and warehouse operations
  • Innovative and collaborative to drive organizational change
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization as well as externally to customers & suppliers
  • Data analytical skills to drive decision making
  • Lean Continuous Improvement Experience Required, Six Sigma certifications a plus
  • Proven negotiation capability
  • Benchmark key performance metrics and processes against industry and market leaders; aim for best-in-class performance in key areas
  • Ability to solve complex problems and propose alternative solutions.
  • 15+ years managing Supply Chain, Production, Supply/Demand Planning, or Procurement
  • Demonstrated communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • S&OP experience.
  • Ability to communicate cross-culturally with Japanese colleagues and business leaders in English.
  • ASCM/APICS, and/or PMP Certifications a plus
  • Energy, Technology or Electronics industry experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing large, complex projects within a global organization
  • Preferred: MBA a plus
  • BA/BS in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related area
  • Operational transformation experience including ERP and SCM Systems implementation including SCM Planning tools.
  • Strategic thinking and analysis capabilities including identifying risks and opportunities across SC Planning.
  • Collaboration and influencing skills
