Job Description

Miller Canfield, an international law firm of more than 200 attorneys with a full complement of practice offerings, is seeking a Director of Human Resources. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and managing programs in the following areas: compensation and benefits, performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, wellness, policy development and execution, employee relations and engagement. This position is responsible for leading and advising the human resources team and providing support and direction to additional key leadership positions across the firm.Requirements for the position include:


•A minimum of 10+ years human resources management experience in successively progressive positions of responsibility.

•Leadership experience in a professional services firm is required; mid-size professional services and/or law firm experience preferred.

•Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field. MBA preferred.

•Depth of experience in most functional areas of human resources, including but not limited to: compensation and benefits, HRIS, policy development, compliance, employee relations, performance management, recruiting and diversity.

•Successful history of leading the development and implementation of HR programs which provided positive results.

•Strong writing and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex ideas succinctly and clearly.

•Experience with working with multiple and/or remote offices.

•SPHR and/or SHRM– SCP certifications preferred.
