Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual for a Boston-based client. Our client is searching for a Director/VP of Finance & Operations with strong leadership skills and the experience to help scale the company including potentially doubling the current team in twelve months. The ideal candidate will have verifiable experience managing several G&A functions in a fast-paced startup environment. The preferred candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations including managing the IT Department, HR, and Accounting.


Responsibilities:


  • Experience working with the board of directors is desirable
  • Manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the company achieves investor targets for growth and profitability
  • Build the financial models and projections to guide the crucial decision makings of the company effectively
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to set and drive operation strategy and planning
  • Manage IT to provide necessary infrastructure support and security of our network and technology
  • Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention
  • Work with closely with the company CEO and President to translate strategy into actionable steps, ie implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations, and take appropriate action when necessary
  • Hands-on management of the IT, HR, and accounting teams to ensure the effective and efficient operation of each function
  • Oversee HR and recruiting to help scale the team and build a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met


Requirements:


  • Three or more years of experience in leadership positions in startup companies
  • Experience working with highly skilled employees in an R&D startup environment is highly preferred
  • Five or more years of experience in a tech-driven product company to manage accounting, HR, and operations
  • This role is onsite, remote work is not available at this moment
