Silver Lion Farms, LLC, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Finance & Accounting to join our team. This 100% remote positionworks based on Pacific Time hours.

We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Director of Finance & Accounting to join our team. As the Director of Finance & Accounting, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our finance and accounting team and functions. Your expertise will ensure efficiency and accuracy, setting the foundation for our financial success. In this key leadership position, you will serve as a trusted thought partner to our CEO and a critical member of our leadership team, actively contributing to strategic decision-making.

Silver Lion Farms is a privately held organic CBD supply chain company established in 2018 and based in Ely, Nevada. As a vertically integrated seed-to-extraction company, we are committed to setting the gold standard for industrial-scale standardization and efficiency in USDA Certified Organic CBD production. We are a small but mighty team of 50, with most of our employees working onsite at our beautiful campus, which includes 3,000 organic acres and a state-of-the-art 250,000 square-foot Dutch Glasshouse north of Ely. The remaining team members collaborate remotely around the western United States. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Management

• Manages preparation and presentation of information for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, audits, and reviews
• Works effectively and proactively with internal stakeholders to assess the operations of the organization and make favorable cost structure recommendations
• Manages the relationship with the company’s bank
• Leads, develops, and mentors a department of three (3)
• Strategizes and assists the CEO with short and long-term financial goals for the organization, including risk management and cost allocations
• Provides financial analyses, as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Establishes the overall direction and strategic initiatives for the accounting department to include Budgeting, A/P, A/R, Payroll, and Procurement
• Manages the key tactical and organizational areas of budgeting and control, capital investments, people, and resource management

Accounting

• Develop and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures that are GAAP compliant
• Manages the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
• Enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

Reporting

• Provide cost management reports as required by department leaders
• Cashflow Statement
• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts (ProForma)
• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
• Balance Sheet
• Provide financial analyses, as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Issue timely and complete financial statements by the 15th of the following month:
• Profit & Loss

Annual Budget

• With the support of the CEO, prepares annual forecasts and budgets
• Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to leadership

Insurance Renewals

• Manages the renewal and optimization of the company’s insurance policies
• Support the company’s annual insurance renewals

Tax & Compliance

• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with debt covenants
• Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors, as required

Minimum Qualifications

• CPA Certified
• 3+ years Finance & AccountingDirector experience
• Agriculture industry experience preferred
• Proficient in QuickBooks
• This role requires that the employee works within the Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or equivalent
• 10+ years of Finance and Accounting experience
