Job Description

RJR Partners is representing a top tier boutique drilling firm focused on the mining, energy and water spaces. The company is looking to hire a Director of Employee Experience. This is a remote role with occassional travel required to Arizona, Nevada, and Utah.


This role reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for managing the strategy and processes related to hiring and retaining exceptional employees. It will be instrumental in helping us continue down the path of building a world-class company. The successful candidate will act as an advisor and consultant to the leadership team but must also be able to roll up their sleeves. A diverse skillset and a broad knowledge base will be necessary, as there will be a small team, consisting of one direct report.

You will work across the entire organization, leveraging internal and external resources where appropriate, to continue developing a well-defined company culture. This includes making sure that the company values are reinforced with every initiative and communication.

While an exceptional employee experience will be paramount, providing an exciting, candidate-centric recruiting experience will also be vital. You will interface directly with our operations and recruiting teams and serve as the company’s culture advocate and brand builder, to help attract the best talent possible to our organization.


You will be responsible for implementing programs, systems, and processes that enhance and elevate our teams experience, while ensuring we are compliant with state and federal regulations.


Role Highlights:

  • Coordinate and provide insightful crisis management advice when required.
  • Lead the effort to create an inviting, cohesive employee experience.
  • Anticipate HR-related needs and delivering value added services for the benefit of the employees.
  • Help drive change within the organization.
  • Coordinate and work with key legal, HR, and marketing partners to fulfill objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand targets and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, retention, and development of human capital.
  • Play a key role in cultivating company culture.
  • Responsible for managing all traditional HR functions withing the organization, including day-to-day operational issues.
  • Ensure the organization’s values are reflected in people-oriented decisions.
  • Implement and manage compliance efforts with all the employment laws and regulations.
  • Work to improve internal communications.
  • Maintain an effective level of business literacy including company goals, values, financial position, strategy, competition, technology, and culture.
  • Implement and manage employee programs.
  • Investigate claims of misconduct and escalate to leadership and legal team as required.

Education and Experience:

  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • At least 10 years of human resource management experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
