Director of Credit & Collections

Job Overview: Our San Antonio client, in Transportation/Logistics, is seeking to add a NEW Director of Credit & Collections to their team. Director of Credit & Collections is responsible for all credit and collections activities across multiple groups. To be successful in the role of Director of Credit & Collections, you must have strong relevant industry experience, ability to establish policy and procedure, and willingness to be hands on with all activities within collections.

This is a Direct Hire role.

What you will be doing as a Director of Credit & Collections…

• Maintains credit files
• Negotiates payment terms with new and existing customers
• Automate collections process, including cash application
• Sets credit limits for customers
• Work to reduce or eliminate credit and re-bills
• Calculates allowance for doubtful accounts
• Works with decentralized billing, improving accuracy and timeliness of billing
• Weekly meetings with CFO to review weekly aging reports
• Establishes policies and procedures for staff
• Monitors D&B for changing payment trends, bankruptcies, etc.
• Hands on with all collections issues, activities, for major accounts
• Reports weekly on aging for all groups
• Quarterly cleanup of old invoices and credit memos
• Sets up automated lockbox systems

Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Director of Credit & Collections…

• CBA, CCRA, or CCE certified
• Min 5 years experience in managing teams in Credit and Collections
• Trade group affiliations (NACM)
• Min 10 years experience in Credit and Collections
• Transportation experience preferred
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Industrial background
