Job Description
Director of Continuous Improvement
$140k + Benefits
Miami, FL (On-Site)
M-F

This position will be responsible for leading the Continuous Improvement Culture. Primary responsibilities will include directing process improvement opportunities and, while fostering a team-based environment, supporting continuous improvement goals in all areas of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Support project teams in process quality activities by educating, coaching and mentoring others on process improvement, philosophy, tools and application.
  • Assist in the creation of performance metrics, reporting and improvement targets for all areas of the company.
  • Ensure that all process improvement events are properly documented and effectively communicated.
  • Increase standardization of work processes.
  • Drive culture change to instill focus on fact-based management practices, the use of Six Sigma and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Travel as required.
  • Lead and manage all process improvement functions for the facility for data-based, cost-effective solutions to business problems that provide measurable cost savings and/or revenue enhancement, reduction or elimination of non-value-added work and increased prevention of defects.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in implementing LEAN in a production/process-driven environment, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in aircraft production and maintenance with a solid background of lean implementation.
  • Minimum certification as Green Belt in Lean / 6 Sigma is preferred.
  • FAA and A&P licenses are preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience is required.
