What You Will Achieve
This is a senior leadership position within High-throughput Clinical Immunoassays & Diagnostics (HCID) within Pfizer Vaccine Research and Development (VRD). Reporting to the Head of HCID, you will apply a diverse skill set to design, implement, and lead programs to optimize quality, compliance, training, and operational efficiency in the execution of HCID’s core function: validation of high-throughput clinical assays and their use for sample analysis supporting key readouts for Pfizer’s vaccine clinical trials. This leader will foster a culture of continuous improvement and identify tools, technology, and business processes to achieve improved operations.
How You Will Achieve It
  • Seeks and develops new tools and technology for driving HCID operations ensuring ongoing success supporting expanding vaccine portfolio
  • Ensure framework elements are in place to enable cross-functional ownership, actively manage change, and develop metric-based assessments of HCID’s operational productivity and efficiency
  • Ensure HCID colleagues are compliant with training programs; liaise with VRD’s Quality & Compliance organization to ensure robust training program for all colleagues
  • Proactively identify opportunity to deploy internal and external resources for robust and sustained manager training program for HCID managers
  • Collaborate with other HCID Leadership, in change management for rollout of new programs and business processes within HCID; drive continuous improvement activities within HCID operations; help foster climate of change
  • Leads special projects and high-profile initiatives both within HCID and cross-functionally within VRD ensuring operational execution of such programs
  • Partner/collaborate with PX and site onboarding team to create synergies and establish HCID-specific onboarding program that complements VRD and Pfizer onboarding programs
  • Quality: Ensure that Pfizer's values are reflected on a continuous basis in day-to-day job functions.
  • Lead change management of continuous improvement initiatives and programs
  • Director of Continuous Improvement will work with HCID’s functional leaders and their teams to identify opportunities for operational improvements; providing solutions and leading the implementation of such solutions to solve business challenges
Qualifications
Must-Have
  • Strong project management, change agility and problem-solving capabilities.
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or clinical laboratory industries
  • Strong business acumen enabling successful articulation of linkage between business decisions and business objectives.
  • Strong experience with successful business processes improvements
  • Bachelor’s degree
Nice-to-Have
  • Advanced Degree is desirable (MS with 9+ years of experience / PhD with 7+ years of experience) in one of the disciplines relating to drug development, business management, or organizational effectiveness
  • Demonstrated skills and success in relationship building, negotiation, and influencing.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, creativity and innovation in approaches to business operations.
  • Ability to anticipate situations and problems and take initiative & appropriate action.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both oral and written with leaders, colleagues, partners, and customers. Experience preparing and delivering creative and targeted presentations to intended audiences.
  • Proven ability to define and lead projects, track and execute with quality and timeliness on complex programs of work.
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to quickly and effectively solve problems and overcome challenges.

  • This position may require occasional travel between Pfizer sites and other business-related travel.
